Dwarf Coral Banded Shrimp ***

The Coral Banded Shrimp is a striking shrimp with red and white stripes, a yellow body and extra long antennae. Peaceful in nature, this species is fairly active and enjoys scavenging along the aquarium floor. These shrimp are aggressive only with their own species and must be kept singly or in a true bonded pair. Also called The Boxing Shrimp, this species will inhabit the underside of rocks when not searching for food. When they molt they will hide for a few days as their new shell hardens. These shrimp stay small with the male being noticeably smaller than the female. Mating can occur in captivity but raising larvae is generally not successful. They will accept most flaked and frozen foods.
