The Tile Sea Starfish is an attractive fromia starfish with only minor variations between specimens. They are speckled with black dots and will occasionally have black or white tips on their arms. They require much room for foraging and feed heavily on film algae, microorganisms and detritus.They are more difficult to care for in home aquaria than serpent and brittle stars as they are extremely intolerant of changes in water parameters. Special care must be taken to properly acclimate this species.

Acclimation:
Slow temperature acclimation: 45 – 60 min
Dripping is the preferred method of acclimation for all inverts. Most invertebrates are best with a 1 hour drip. More sensitive invertebrates like starfish and urchins should be dripped for longer.

Notes for Success:
- Make sure there is no significant change in water temperature while acclimating.
- They are not tolerant of high nitrates
- They are not tolerant of copper medications
- They are not tolerant of large changes in water chemistry
