Marine Pure BioMedia products are made of inert ceramic substrates. Its highly porous structure creates high open-flow surface areas for thin bio-films to form throughout the media. This effectively creates medium for the ammonia and nitrite removing beneficial bacteria to grow and thrive. In addition, the media also aids in reducing nitrate levels as the inner parts of the media also houses the anaerobic bacteria required.
