Who Are World Wide Corals

Most reefers have heard the name “World Wide Corals” or seen the ubiquitous “WWC” designation after a particularly striking coral.  So what is World Wide Corals? And why is it so popular?

World Wide Corals is a massive salt water superstore in Orlando, Florida.  It boasts an awe inspiring variety of corals, fish and invertebrates.  One of the main attractions are their display tanks, which allow reefers to see the countless possibilities that are out there and get inspiration for their own tanks.

One of the best things about World Wide Corals are the huge variety of corals available and the wide range of price points.  The store caters to all levels of hobbyists, and reefers can find rare Torch Corals and Acropora for hundreds of dollars, but can also find a huge variety of more modestly priced corals.  There probably isn’t a store anywhere that offers a wider selection of corals.  The staff are hobbyists too and they offer exceptional customer service.  World Wide Corals also offers a large range of fish and invertebrates for tanks of all sizes and all experience levels.

Unfortunately, World Wide Corals does not ship live goods to consumers in Canada.  This is for the same reason that Fragbox is unable to ship to the United States, the amount of paperwork and the import/export costs are prohibitive.  This doesn’t mean that hobbyists in Canada are totally shut out, however.  Some vendors import corals and fish in bulk from World Wide Corals and, since there are no trademark restrictions on WWC corals, any hobbyist or store is free to grow and propagate their own provided they can get their hands on a frag or a mother colony.

Because they are one of the largest, if not the largest, coral company in North America World Wide Corals has an active presence at many large North American reefing trade shows and will often display many of their newest specimens.  Of course, for many reefers a trip to the flagship store in Orlando is a must!
