The red sea reefer 425XL is the next step up from the reefer 350. This aquarium is a show piece wherever its set up. With 4 feet across it provides lots of room for fish and corals to grow. This is one of the most popular sizes on red sea reefer systems. Like the smaller models, this reefer is simply the easiest and most elegant way of starting a salt water reef tank at home. In either black or or white,  the stand is ultra modern , sleek and convenient. The reefer gives you everything you need for the perfect reef tank. Super clear glass, stylish cabinet, auto top off water system built in and a professional designed filter sump. It really doesn’t get better than this. These tanks make the perfect addition to any home or condo. They are also silent ! The plumbing has been designed to avoid gurgling or water sounds so you can enjoy your aquarium in silence. If you have the room go with the red sea reefer 425  over the smaller models, you wont regret it and will give you years of enjoyment and relaxation before you even considering going bigger 🙂

Lighting

AI Hydra 32HD  or Ecotech XR15 Blue

Lighting is probably one of the most important consideration you will make when building a salt water aquarium. It also happen to be the most expensive. This is the one place you don’t want to cheap out. Both Aqua Illumination and the Ecotech Radion make amazing choice for this tank. These brands are actually owned by the same American company and simply have no competitors when it comes to powerful led lightening for reef tanks.  Intense dimmable power for soft coral or even the most light demanding. Superb customer service and huge online community of users. Simply the best and pair beautifully with ant redsea reefer. This aquarium would need a pair of lights to light it.

Skimmer

Bubble magus curve 7 

Protein skimmer are very important in nutrient export in a saltwater aquarium. The bubble magus brand of skimmers pairs perfectly with the red sea reefer 425 XL and they offer high quality, easy to use and clean, silent and reliable skimmers. Not to mention easy on the wallet ! This brand is always our preferred brand of skimmer and these size pair beautifully with the reefer 425. It fits snugly in the sump but still gives you lots of room.

Return Pump

Sicce 3.0

Amazing, Italian made , silent and 5 year warranty. I know, its crazy who does a 5 year warranty on anything these days? Let a lone a pump running in salt water. We always recommend the sicce brand of pumps. The pump is like the heart of your aquarium. It send water from the sump (filter) up to your display tank. If it stops the blood (water) stops flowing. Don’t you want the most reliable heart ? Go with sicce, its what we use.

Heater Cobalt 300w

Easy to program, reliable, 3 year warranty. Basic, simple and does what its supposed to do. This Italian made heater is our preferred brand of heater. The 200w cobalt heater is enough for this aquarium unless you plan on putting it in a basement, you may want to consider going up to the 250w model.

Wavemakers

Flow is crucial is a salt water aquarium, you want to recreate natural ocean currents. The reefer has quiet a bit of water to move around so you will want something with decent power.  When it comes to wavemakers there are SO MANY options of the market. For budget friendly and reliable water movement go with the Jebao sw-15 For this aquarium you would need 2 of them. Its going to depend on how you set your rock work. For the best go with the MP40 from Ecotech or the  nero 5 form AI. If you choose the AI light like the prime or hydra, they all run of the most amazing app and will connect seamlessly to your smart device.  Check out video review on the nero 5 for info. There is just to much to type. For either option you will need two pumps. We have less expensive options we would happy to show you in store as well.

The all new reefer XL series of aquariums are available at fragbox corals!

The REEFER XL includes four models that give you the freedom to create more expansive, intricate, and diverse reefscapes without the constraints of the smaller tanks. All four XL models are 57.5cm (22.6″) wide and 55 cm (22″) high (excluding XL 200, which is 53 cm/21″ high). They differ in length and are available in 4 sizes from 60cm (24″) long/200 liter (53 gal) capacity up to 150cm (59″) long/525 liter (140 gal). All the REEFER XL models now feature a laminated, plywood marine-spec cabinet for greater water resistance with adjustable feet for perfect leveling on any surface.

Specification

The incredibly popular REEFER series aquariums from Red Sea have been redesigned into a brand new series of tanks – The REEFER G2. Red Sea hasn’t moved too far away from their original vision of the REEFER tanks and the overall appearance has gone unchanged. The improvements to the G2 series tanks are focused on the quality of craftsmanship, filtration performance, and an optional extended warranty.

Upgraded Reef-Spec Ready Sump

The new glass sump features a Reef-Mat ready mechanical filtration compartment with removable micron filter socks and media cups making it easy to install the Red Sea Reef-Mat Fleece Roller. As with the original REEFER sumps, you still get a dedicated skimmer chamber with an adjustable water level, an optional refugium chamber, and an integrated ATO system with a freshwater reservoir.

Improved Water Management System

The easy assemble plumbing has always been a benefit to Red Sea aquariums and the new plumbing kits feature an improved precision flow control for the primary drainpipe and dual return nozzles to help distribute flow throughout the display. Red Sea also created a custom pipe connection kit making it easy to connect US standard PVC pipes to the stock Red Sea plumbing which is a great bonus for advanced reef tank owners.

Fortified Plywood Stand

The laminated plywood cabinets follow the contour of the display aquarium creating that sleek aesthetic. Plywood makes it easy to mount your favorite Reef-Spec equipment and controllers while maintaining structural stability. The stand doors come with an epoxy coating for extra protection against harsh saltwater as well as stainless steel hinges and adjustable leveling feet. Larger tank models are also extra-fortified with aluminum supports that allow for plenty of access down below the tank without bulky braces getting in the way.

Optional 5-year Extended Warranty

All REEFER G2 aquariums are rimless and made from thick ultra-clear glass with beveled edges and clean silicone lines. Right out of the box your REEFER G2 comes with a 3-year standard warranty with the option of an additional 2 years of warranty support available directly from Red Sea.

Tank Sizes & Models

There are a total of 12 tank sizes available in the REEFER G2 line and all of the tanks are available in either a black or white finish. Just like the original series, you also have the option of the deluxe edition tank that comes complete with appropriately sized ReefLED lights and universal mounting arms.
