Why are my corals not opening ?

This can happen for so many different reasons !

The top thing to look out for in your reef aquarium if your struggling with corals not opening it going to depend on the type of coral

What is your salt level ? Probably the most common mistake we see here at our store of all hobbyists is incorrect salt level. For best results use a refractometer and make sure its calibrated

Is something eating it ? Ensure no fish ( especially angelfish), inverts or pests are nibbling on your corals

Temperature correct ? Ensure your temperature is between 76-78 degree f

Is something stinging it ? Ensure no other coral in the vicinity is stinging it !

Water are water parameters? In this hobby we don’t really maintain coral, we simply maintain water. So ensure all of your parameters are correct with high quality test kits. We use aqua forest test kits to test our water and keep our aquariums as close to natural sea water as possible
