Why We Only Use Reef Casa Super Set Glue
I’ve been fragging corals for about 20 years now. In that time I’ve bought glue from basically everyone. Hobby brands, hardware store gel, big industrial jugs off Alibaba, and every “reef safe” bottle thats ever been handed to me at a trade show.
There is one bottle on our frag bench now. Reef Casa Super Set. It’s the only glue we use on every single frag that leaves this shop, and it’s the only one we sell.
Glue matters more than people think
Nobody buys a frag and thinks about the glue. You think about it exactly once, and that’s the day the frag pops off the plug in your car on the way home, or three days later when a powerhead catches it and it ends up buried in the sand bed.
That’s the whole reason we got picky about this. The glue is the last thing between a healthy coral and a bad week.
What was wrong with the rest of it
Different bottles, same handful of problems over and over.
Thin glue runs. It drips off the plug before you can even seat the frag, you use twice as much, and the bond is still weak.
Slow glue kills your day. Holding a frag for a minute is nothing. Holding a frag for a minute, two hundred times, is the difference between finishing a rack and giving up on it.
Some glues cure chalky. Looks great on the bench, goes white and crumbly, and snaps clean off a week later in the tank.
And then there’s the bottles that clog shut halfway through. Throwing out half a bottle is annoying. Throwing it out in the middle of a frag session is worse.
Why Super Set stuck
It’s a thick gel, 1500 CPS, so it sits exactly where you put it. It doesn’t run down the plug and it doesn’t vanish into porous rock.
It sets in about 30 seconds in water. Dip, hold, done.
It grabs rock, plugs, tiles and coral skeleton, so we’re not swapping products halfway through a job. Same bottle for making frags, mounting frags and aquascaping.
It’s 100% reef safe. It goes into our own display and holding systems everyday, and has for years.
And honestly the biggest one, it’s consistent. Every bottle acts like the last bottle. No weird batch that’s suddenly thinner, no batch that cures different.
If you want it to set instantly
Pair it with Turbo Hold. Spray it and the bond is immediate. That’s what we do in store when we’re mounting a whole rack, or gluing something awkward like an upside down overhang.
Which size do you actually need
If you have a home tank, get the 1oz bottle. It’s enough to mount a batch of frags and do some rock work, and small enough that you’ll finish it before it sits around getting old.
If you’re a store, a serious fragger, or you’re gluing something most days, buy the 300ml jumbo. Small bottles are an expensive way to buy glue when you go through it. The jumbo is the same stuff, way better cost per use, and it’s literally the bottle sitting on our bench.

Bottom line
We never planned on selling glue. We just got tired of losing frags. After 20 years of trying everything else this is the one that was left standing, so it’s what we use and it’s the only one we’ll put our name on.
