Note on lighting

At Fragbox we grow this species under about 250 PAR but we have kept really nice color on this species with par as low as 150. This is one species that is more adaptable to variations in lighting then other corals.

Acropora valida forms dense, upright branches with rounded tips and smooth corallites, often showing brilliant green highlighter polyps under blue light

Habitat & Natural Distribution

This species is found throughout the Indo-Pacific, typically on shallow reef crests and upper slopes exposed to bright sunlight and moderate to strong wave action.

Aquarium Care & Placement

Place Acropora valida high in the aquarium where it can receive intense light and turbulent flow. It adjusts best when introduced as a small frag and allowed to grow in the system’s conditions.
