Bumble Bee Snail
(Engina sp.)
These snails are excellent substrate aerators for smaller tanks. They prey on smaller worms and detritus within your sandbed. They are a good alternative to nassarius snails as they can reach smaller areas of the tank. It is good to note that if there is insufficient food bumble bee snails will prey on other invertebrates within the aquarium. In this case, their diet should be supplemented with meaty foods or sinking, protein rich, pellets.
