Cynarina corals are one of the most unique of all the LPS corals. They are easily recognized and characterized by their translucent flesh.  They referred to as meat coral or cushion corals. Its similar to scoly in growth and shape but different in color and patterns. Its hard to describe their appearance and they are almost ghost like. You can see the color underneath a see through flesh.  They sometimes have different colored mouths which really pop.

They have a stony base and from personal experience I find they don’t like to be glued. They need to low medium flow, they are very fleshy and if they get too much they will fly away in the current. The body can act like a sail and they will flip over, they can not flip themselves. They prefer low to medium light and fairly hardy. They can not be be fragged and can grow quiet quickly.

They love eating and they are not picky. They will eat frozen, pellets and we feed ours vitalis LPS pellets.  Their mouth opens super wide and sucks in the food, they can be fed every day. They can not and should be no propagated but make amazing center piece to almost any reef aquarium
