The Alveopora coral is simply one of the most beautiful LPS corals in the world.  Its immediately recognizable by its majestic waving polyps and gets its nick name flower pot from its waving flower like appearance. The Alveopora is distinguished from gonipora by its tentacles, it has 12 tentacles on each polyp and is often green. Gonipora its close cousin has 6 polyps and comes in more color varieties. It is semi aggressive but can be grouped safely with other gonipora or alveporas. Its polyps can extend many inches past its base and often can look much larger than they are. We find they do best in low to very low settings but can tolerate higher flower than goniporas. They are photosythnethic but should be fed reef roids for optimal health.  They will appreciate live phyto feeding and zooplankton. They can quickly consume manganese levels in aquariums so if you are keeping more than one you may need to dose this element ( aqua forest offers lab grade manganese and this trace supplement)

We find our alveopora corals also look best with elevated magnesium levels of about 1500ppm.
